San Diego web design from someone who answers the phone

Digital Anchor rebuilds and manages websites for San Diego small businesses and nonprofits: web design, WordPress care, hosting, and rebuilds that don’t gamble away your Google rankings.

01

The third option

Most San Diego businesses have two options for their website: a big agency where your site is a small account passed between juniors, or a freelancer who might not be around next year.

Digital Anchor is the third option: an expert-led studio run by me, Brendan O’Connell, a San Diego developer who handles the work personally and brings in trusted collaborators when a project needs more hands. You get senior judgment on every decision, and you always know exactly who’s responsible for your site.

Where I tend to help most

  • You need a rebuild but can’t afford to lose your Google rankings.
  • Your previous developer disappeared and nobody can touch the site.
  • Your WordPress site feels risky to update, so nobody does.
  • Hosting, domain, email, and forms are scattered across accounts you barely control.
  • The site is slow and fragile on the phones your customers actually use.
  • You want it handled by one reachable person, not a ticket queue.

All of it is fixable, usually without starting over. Tell me what’s broken and I’ll tell you what it would take.

Across San Diego & Santa Barbara counties

Based in San Diego and working across the county, with clients up the coast in Santa Barbara County too. A few of the markets I work in:

Somewhere else in the county? That’s fine, most of the work happens remotely anyway. Local just means I can show up when it helps.

Common questions

Do you only work with San Diego businesses?

No, I work with clients anywhere. But being local matters for a lot of San Diego businesses: you get someone in your timezone who can meet in person when it helps and actually picks up the phone when something breaks.

Can you rebuild my site without losing my Google rankings?

That's the whole point. Every rebuild starts by inventorying what already earns traffic and inquiries, then the migration maps and redirects every URL so rankings hold through the move. Protecting what works is the job, not an afterthought.

My previous developer disappeared. Can you take over?

Yes. That's one of the most common reasons people call. I can take over hosting, updates, and maintenance of an existing WordPress site, untangle a scattered setup, and give you one reachable person responsible for it.

Do I have to commit to a big project?

No. Plenty of work here is just reliable ongoing care: hosting, updates, backups, and someone to call, starting at $100/mo. If a rebuild isn't what you actually need, I'll tell you.

Let’s talk about your site.
